Getting Outside This May Long Weekend

The weather is looking up for this May Long Weekend and we are crossing our fingers it stays that way so we can enjoy the sunshine and get outside! If your feeling stuck for ways to enjoy our beautiful city this weekend, look no further, here are three ways you can have some fun in the sun!

1. Raft Down the Bow

For a full day activity, taking a raft or a kayak down the Bow is a great way to hang out with your friends and family. Even if you don’t have any paddling equipment there are lots of amazing resources in the city that can help you enjoy your trip down the bow.

For rentals check out Lazy Day Raft Rentals, The Paddle Station or the University of Calgary Outdoor Centre, all three have a large supply of rafts and kayaks for your weekend activities

2. Go See the Pandas at the Zoo

If you haven’t had a chance to see these cute additions to The Calgary Zoo, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to make your way over to the Panda Passage. Tickets are $19.95 for children and $29.95 for adults, to skip the line it’s best to reserve your viewing time with the pandas by visiting The Calgary Zoo’s website in advance.

3. Have a Campfire

Torill's Table

Warm evenings call for campfires with lots of laughter under the starry sky, the smell of gooey marshmallows and campfire smoke in the air. Whether it’s in your backyard or on a camping trip there’s something special about sharing stories and telling jokes around a fire, especially when smores are involved!

For a creative spin on traditional smores, try it between two heart-shaped sections of our Norwegian style waffles. This is a healthy alternative when using our gluten-free mix or even as a nutritional base using our original mix. The best part? It won’t snap in half in the middle when you take a bite.
